Õtaka Restaurant

CONCEPT

In essence, Õtaka is a restaurant that combines Japanese and Peruvian cuisine, which is also known as Nikkei cuisine. With a restless and innovative spirit, the chef and his team have worked tirelessly since the restaurant's inauguration in 2018 to constantly improve and maintain high quality standards. Over the years, the combination of flavors and techniques from both cultures, as well as the growing appreciation and use of Azorean products (products from the Azores archipelago), have transformed Õtaka into more than just a restaurant. It offers an immersive gastronomic experience that is constantly developing and renewing itself every day. For anyone looking for a unique and memorable dining experience, Õtaka is the perfect choice!

THE DREAM OF COMING HOME

Far from Portugal and the Azores, Õtaka was born from the desire of its owners and chefs, José Pereira and Anne Teixeira, to return home after years of emigrating to Switzerland.

José is from the Azores and Anne is from Brazil, and they saw the island of São Miguel in the Azores archipelago as an opportunity to develop this unique project and make their dream come true.
